Endodontic Dental Treatments
Endodontic dental treatments or ‘root canal treatments’ involve the treatment of injured, tooth when its pulp became inflamed or infected. The aim of this procedure is to eliminate the bacteria that are causing the infection and to prevent the tooth and the surrounding bone from possible future infection.
The infected, injured or dead tissue of dental pulp is properly removed. The inside of the root canal system is cleaned, shaped out and disinfected and the empty root canal system is prepared so that it can be sealed with an inert definitive root filling. If the tooth present enough sound structure to support a new filling or crown, it can be restored and has the potential to last a lifetime.
